Energy efficiency is good for business. Adopting more energy-efficient practices and equipment will help your business reduce its overhead costs. Those savings can then be invested back into your work.
If you're wondering how to start saving energy in your business, contact Efficiency Smart. Our account managers take a hands-on approach to helping you solve your energy needs. Whether you're at the very beginning or well into your energy efficiency journey, we're here to help. Our consulting services are 100% customized to your business and are included at no charge for customers of participating electric utilities.
Working with Efficiency Smart is simple. Here are the five steps you can expect when working with us.
We begin every new relationship with a meeting to learn more about your business. We want to meet you, see your business, and hear about your goals. We ask a lot of questions about how your business works, your vision for the future, and any pain points you're currently experiencing. This helps us understand whether and how energy efficiency measures might fit in.
Depending on your goals, Efficiency Smart engineers may conduct a walkthrough of your facility. Following the facility review, we provide a customized list of recommendations for improving efficiency. Our recommendations are always concise and easy to understand so that your team isn’t left to sift through dozens of pages of technical jargon.
Most importantly, though, our recommendations are prioritized based on your goals and short-term payback, so you can be sure you're getting the most bang for your buck. At this stage, we also discuss the incentives we can offer for your project. Equipped with all this information, you can make an informed choice about which projects to pursue, and on what timescale.
Sometimes our recommendations are simple and free, like turning off motors when they're not being used. We've seen businesses save tens of thousands of dollars annually from those kinds of actions. Other times, we can help you de-prioritize projects that might be a waste of money, or that don’t provide enough value in terms of short- or long-term savings.
Once you've decided which projects to pursue, it's time to get quotes from contractors. Efficiency Smart can review those proposals to be sure they’re cost-effective and meet your efficiency goals. We can also work directly with vendors to process the paperwork for your incentives. Our goal is to make your life easier in whatever ways are most helpful to you and your business.
Efficiency Smart works with you to get your project pre-approved. Once the project is rolling with a contractor, we stay in touch to make sure things go smoothly. When the project is complete, an Efficiency Smart engineer may complete an inspection to make sure everything is installed. Then, you receive your incentive check for any qualifying project.
Our relationship doesn't end after one project. We're available to help with your next project, even if it's months or years away. We can provide support and advice as needed, even just to brainstorm around a challenge you're having.
Efficiency Smart is your energy efficiency partner from start to finish. We can work with your business to provide customized recommendations based on your goals. We also provide financial incentives on qualifying projects.
