Lighting

Lighting is a great place for just about any business to start. You can get a rebate for upgrading your lighting to LEDs. Most commonly, that means replacing high-bay fixtures or linear fluorescents. In some cases, we also provide rebates for exterior lighting and linear strip fixtures. We also provide incentives for replacing older, less efficient LEDs.

Building Controls

Building controls can help reduce operating costs by ensuring your building isn't using excess energy when no one's around. Efficiency Smart offers rebates for lighting controls. These include occupancy sensors and daylight sensors. They help save energy by turning off lights when spaces are empty. We also offer rebates for motor controls like variable frequency drives (VFDs). In a more specialized building, we can help incentivize controls for equipment like conveyor belts or refrigeration.

Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning

If you’re thinking about upgrading to a more efficient HVAC system, you may qualify for rebates. This applies if your system exceeds local energy codes or federal efficiency standards. HVAC systems vary widely between businesses, so we'll work with you to figure out what type of system makes the most sense for your space. We incentivize several types of equipment. This includes heat pumps, air conditioning, ventilation fans, and chillers. It’s usually more cost-effective to wait until your current HVAC system reaches the end of its life before replacing it with a more efficient unit. When that time comes, choose an efficient system. This will help you save energy over its lifespan.
