Appliance Recycling Rewards

Earn money for responsibly recycling your old appliances.

Do you have an extra fridge or freezer adding to your electric bill? Have you bought a new appliance but don’t know what to do with your old one? Now is the perfect time to retire your aging unit, save energy, and get rewarded!

Now through September 30, Efficiency Smart will pick up your working appliance for free and pay you $75 for each eligible refrigerator, freezer, dehumidifier, or window air conditioner responsibly recycled.

The 2026 seasonal Appliance Recycling Rewards program has concluded. Check back in 2027 for more information on next year’s program.

Why Recycle?

Efficiency Smart's Appliance Recycling Rewards program ensures that your appliance is properly disposed of, helping to prevent hazardous materials from entering a landfill. Properly recycling old units also permanently removes them from the electric grid, helping to reduce your community's energy needs.
