Are you upgrading an old appliance? Do you have a secondary fridge or freezer adding to your electric bill and taking up space in your home?
Efficiency Smart will pick up and pay you $75 for each eligible Refrigerator, Freezer, Dehumidifier, or Window Air Conditioner responsibly recycled.
In addition to the $75 reward, not running your old appliance can also reduce your electric bill.
Schedule a free pick-up of your appliance and our contractor will do the rest. Your appliance will be removed and responsibly recycled, and your $75 reward per unit picked up will be processed—all without you having to lift a finger.
The Appliance Recycling Rewards program is only available to customers of select participating Efficiency Smart utilities in Ohio and Delaware. Eligible electric utilities are in the drop-down list in the submission form below.
Step-by-Step Guide
Eligibility Requirements
Limit of four units recycled per household, per year. Only electric customers of participating utilities are eligible for Appliance Recycling. Eligible electric utilities are in the drop-down list in the submission form below.
Refrigerators and Freezers:
Refrigerators, mini-fridges, and freezers must be between 1-30 cubic feet, be in working condition with functional cooling, and be empty at the time of pick-up.
Dehumidifiers and Window Air Conditioners:
Dehumidifiers must be at least a 15 pint model to qualify. There are no size requirements for window air conditioners. All units must be in working condition, window air conditioners must have functional cooling, be removed from the wall or window, and unplugged. These can be picked up without a refrigerator or freezer request.
