Montpelier Municipal Utilities customers who use the services of either the Northwestern Ohio Community Action Commission, the Montpelier Senior Center, or the Helping Hands Food Pantry can now receive four free LED lightbulbs, thanks to partnerships between Efficiency Smart and the community organizations.
Northwestern Ohio Community Action Commission administers the federal Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) for Montpelier residents. Montpelier Municipal Utilities customers who meet the federal HEAP income guidelines are eligible for the free LEDs. The Montpelier Senior Center offers programming for the Seniors in Montpelier. Montpelier electric customers who use services provided by senior center are eligible to receive the free LEDs. Those interested can call 419-485-3218 for more information.
Helping Hands Food Pantry provides those within the local area with canned and baked foods, as well as meats and fresh produce. Montpelier Municipal Utilities customers who use the food bank are eligible for the free LEDs. Those interested can call 419-485-5575 for more information.
Replacing incandescent lights with LEDs can help save on electric bills, as LEDs last up to 10 times longer than incandescent lightbulbs and can save you $90 or more in electric costs over their lifetime.
