Eldorado Municipal Light, Sewer and Refuse electric customers who use the services of either Miami Valley Community Action Partnership or the HIT Foundation can now receive four free LED lightbulbs, thanks to partnerships between Efficiency Smart and the two community organizations.

Miami Valley Community Action Partnership administers the federal Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) for Eldorado residents. Eldorado electric customers who meet the federal HEAP income guidelines are eligible for the free LEDs. Those interested can call Miami Valley Community Action Partnership at 937-456-2800 for more information.

The HIT Foundation is a not-for-profit organization formed to meet the critical shortage of affordable housing options in rural Preble County, Ohio. The HIT Foundation owns several rental properties in Preble County that provide affordable housing to low-income families. Eldorado electric customers who use services provided by the HIT foundation are eligible to receive the free LEDs. Those interested can call the HIT Foundation at 937-472-0500.

Replacing incandescent lights with LEDs can help save on electric bills, as LEDs last up to 10 times longer than incandescent lightbulbs and can save you $90 or more in electric costs over their lifetime.
