Efficiency Smart, Local Community Organizations Partner to Provide Free LEDs to Bowling Green Electric Customers
February 22, 2019
Bowling Green Municipal Utilities electric customers who use the services of either the Great Lakes Community Action Partnership or The Cocoon Shelter can now receive four free LED lightbulbs, thanks to partnerships between Efficiency Smart and the two community organizations.
The Great Lakes Community Action Partnership administers the federal Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) for Bowling Green residents. Bowling Green electric customers who meet the federal HEAP income guidelines are eligible for the free LEDs. Those interested can call the Great Lakes Community Action Partnership at 419-353-7407 for more information.
The Cocoon Shelter is a not-for-profit organization formed to provide shelter and advocacy services for victims of violence. Bowling Green electric customers who use services provided by the shelter are eligible to receive the free LEDs. Those interested can call The Cocoon Shelter at 419-373-1730.
Replacing incandescent lights with LEDs can help save on electric bills, as LEDs last up to 10 times longer than incandescent lightbulbs and can save you $90 or more in electric costs over their lifetime.
